apparitions
of depression
specters of doom and destruction
phantoms whose sole mission
in life
is to cloud your vision
create disharmony and strife
and steer
you from the truth
that you are already perfect
convincing you that all
is not well
dragging you down to a pit of hell
and yet they seem oh so
very real
their taunting words sharp and cold as steel
as they pierce
through your mind, heart and soul
inhibiting you from playing your role
in the experiential theatre of life
enslaving you in a straightjacket
of mental torment clearly designed
to keep you from looking within
for
that treasure of truth so sublime
which has always resided inside you
since the very beginning of time
when you were imbued by Creation
with
its' spirit so pure and divine
to banish the specters and phantoms
look
within to the guiding light
and the apparitions of depression
will depart
you in rapid flight
