"BROKEN TOYS"
Poem by Joda Khan

you can pick up the pieces
and hold them in place
but the cracks in her heart can't ever be erased
her father an abuser
her mother afraid
before she was walking
the course had been laid
watching in silence
the emotional storms
and where love should have been
only hatred was formed
sailing in a sea of turmoil
seeking an island of peace
she found only cold revelations
and violent release
a child abused
fed from a breast full of pain
has produced a heart filled with clouds
and the tears fall like rain
the world is such a cold cruel place
but she was never warned
life for this child
an event to be mourned
a child abused is the greatest of sins
for what you have created
will also abuse in the end
toys that are broken
are seldom repaired
they hide in the back of the toy box
emotions impaired
a doll with one arm
a truck with no wheels
can you image the pain that broken toys must feel
so never lift your hands in anger
show them always that you care
for some toys that are broken
are beyond all repair
Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Adolf Hitler . . .
broken toys, broken toys, broken toys
