all creatures great and small
the master sculptor so made us
as if from sand we all were formed

Like sand we are constantly shifting
changing form as we slowly degrade
in the end like the grandest sand sculpture
we return back from whence we first came

Even this great planet we call our home
that we believe will always be there
is degrading each day out from under us
accelerated by our lack of care

Beneath molecules which can't be held captive
Is the blueprint that makes it all be
the essence of eternal spirit
infinite and never ending as are we

So let go of that lover who left you
the dear loved one in eternal sleep
that precious belonging the neighbor kid broke
they weren't yours forever to keep
