Poem

as the door to freedom
closes
with a resounding jolt
love hangs low
in the ink colored sky
a
luminary swollen
and heavy with pain
but like an ancient mariner
my soul
sets sail
across the murky sea
of lonliness
barely enough wind
to
stay my course
and even still
a whisp of a breeze
touches my heart
rustling
the sails
that are my soul
filling me to tempest rage
I traveler
cannot
be contained
within me are regions
yet unexplored
foreign shores that
lie
just beyond the hopelessness
a burst of color
that splits the heavens
and
gives birth
to a new horizon
