Have you ever thought about having your portrait painted, or having a painting of yourself in a fantasy or dream setting, or having a painting done of a living or passed loved one or pet? Consider having me paint one for you. Below are a few samples. I can work from a good 35mm or digital photograph or photographs, if you want to include multiple people, or a special setting or background. Prices by stretched canvas sizes are as follows:
11x14 Single Person or Pet Traditional Portrait - $200.00 (Add $100.00 for complex or fantasy background setting. An 11x14 canvas cannot accommodate more than one subject and still have good facial detail.)
16x20 Single Person or Pet Traditional Portrait - $350.00 (Add $100.00 per additional person or pet and for complex or fantasy background setting)
18x24 Single Person or Pet Traditional Portrait - $400.00 (Add $125.00 per additional person or pet and for complex or fantasy background setting)
24x30 Single Person or Pet Traditional Portrait - $600.00 (Add $150.00 per additional person or pet and for complex or fantasy background setting)
Prices include shipping within the U.S., but do not include framing. Visit our Frameshop for moulding choices if you would like your portrait framed. Send your high resolution (300 dpi) digital jpeg photo(s) via email to khanstudio@comcast.net or if you have 35mm photo(s), mail to Khan Studio, 80 Border Street, East Boston, MA 02128. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number and email address.
Remember, the better the photograph, the better the portrait painting will be. Close up photos taken in natural light, but not direct sunlight, are best. It is said: "the eyes are the window to the soul". I believe this is true, so focus my greatest attention on a subject's eyes. It is therefore very important to take a portrait photograph close enough to capture the person's or animal's eyes and natural expression. Keep in mind that it is impossible to perfectly match a person's skintone and often their eye color when painting from a photograph. I require a 50% deposit before commencing work, and will post a photo of your painting on a weblink for your approval prior to taking final payment and shipping. Once your painting is finished, for a totally unique gift, you can get canvas giclee prints or notecards made from it to send to your family and friends.
