"The Path"
Poem By Joda Khan

so I followed the path relentlessly
footsteps guided by the ancient scrolls
forestalling my quest only for the rarest of jewels
a brief encounter in a century long since forgotten
a moment stolen
sacrificed for love
yet when the heat of wet kisses
has chilled nearing sleep
then the memories creep
the shadows dance like gypsies
around the fire
and once more
my soul takes to the journey
one more rumor to follow
someone's eyes who've actually seen
just outside my reach
around the next corner
the face of God awaits
